Premiere Kathleen Wynne is taking a show at the heir’s of Tim Hortons for their actions against the minimum wage increase. Remember this letter that went viral last week. it was from a Tim Hortons in Cobourg, Ontario that was refusing to pay employees breaks and benefits because of the rise of Ontario’s minimum wage. Aside from the letter being a slap against the minimum wage increase, that specific Timmies is actually owned by the former founders of the company Tim Horton’s daughter and Ron Joyce’s son.
In response to this letter the premiere has said “When … I read about how this man is treating his employees and responding to the rise in minimum wage, I was pretty upset about it.” , “To be blunt, I think it’s the act of a bully. And if Mr. Joyce Jr. wants to pick a fight, pick that fight with me and not the people who are working at the service window of the stores.”
