Today was the big day! The Royal Wedding.. if you slept through it, don’t worry – here’s everything you missed!
The dress was super classy white, pretty simple, but it was off the shoulder and that was the best part! The veil was super fancy and long, of course, but there was something special about it.. Meghan had all 53 countries of the commonwealth represented on it.. The flowers of each country were on the veil! The veil itself was held in place by her something borrowed.. A tiara that Queen Elizabeth lent her.. It was made in 1932.. And it really did make her look like a princess!
The Walk Down the Aisle
Instead of being chaperoned down the aisle, she decided to walk most of it on her own, cause she don’t need no man. The first part down the aisle she met her little bridesmaids and page boys..all little kids.. Including two of Harry’s goddaughters, 2 of her goddaughters, the kids of Jessica & Ivy Mulroney (Meghan’s best friends), and Prince George and Princess Charlotte, of course. It was absolutely adorable.. Then she walked down the aisle on her own and met Prince Charles at the Quire – that’s the section of the chapel where the important people sit. Prince Charles didn’t give her away, he stayed back as she walked up to Harry and gave herself away.

Unlike most Royal Weddings, Harry and Meghan didn’t invite any political leaders unless they were friends. Regardless, The day was a star-studded affair, the guests included James Corden, Serena Williams, Elton John, David Beckham, George Clooney, James Blunt, and the Suits cast including: Harvey, Mike, Donna, Jessica, Louis, and Scottie!
The Presence of Princess Diana
Weddings are already an emotional day, but it’s even worse when your mom isn’t there. Harry and Meghan made sure that Princess Diana’s presence was felt. The chapel was filled with white roses, which were Diana’s favourite, her younger brother Earl, and two older sisters Sarah and Jane attended as well and her sister even gave a reading at the ceremony.. This is the part that’ll make you tear up, though.. Prince Harry designed Meghan’s engagement ring himself (’cause he’s adorable) and he made sure to include two diamonds from Diana’s jewelry collection.. He said that this was to make sure “she’s with us on this crazy journey together”. I’m not crying.. My eyes are just sweating..
It was given by Bishop Michael Curry who is the Episcopal Church’s first African-American leader and his preaching style isn’t normally seen in the Church of England. He started and ended with Martin Luther King Jr quotes and talked about slavery, poverty and loving our neighbours.
“When love is the way, there is plenty of room, plenty of room for all of god’s children. Because when love is the way, we actually treat each other well, like we are actually family,” Rev. Michael Bruce Curry says during powerful sermon. #RoyalWedding https://t.co/OvLScRZ1ps pic.twitter.com/8RRXXo26xD
