The city of Sudbury is looking for input on whether or not to allow retail pot sales in the city. Under the new PC Provincial Government, municipalities have been given a one time option to opt out of having retail pot shops in their jurisdictions. A cut off date of January 22nd 2019 has been set. City’s will not be able to change their decision at a future date if they decide to opt out or in.
Regulations for private sales are currently being drafted by Ontario’s Ministry of The Attorney General and are planned to be in place by April 1 2019. As of right now the only legal place to purchase cannabis is online through OCS.ca (Ontario Cannabis Store.)
